About us
Building a Generation of Eco-Leaders
Faunora Conservation Initiative (FCI) is a youth-driven nonprofit organization working to protect Africa’s natural heritage while empowering young people to lead in climate action and sustainable development. With over 60% of Africa’s population under the age of 25, the continent holds the world’s youngest population, a demographic with immense potential to drive solutions to climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation. Yet, the same youth majority are among the most affected by rising unemployment, food insecurity, and climate vulnerabilities. In Uganda, one of Africa’s most biodiverse nations, these challenges are even more pronounced. The country is home to over 78% of its population under 35, but is also facing rapid deforestation, poaching, wetland degradation, plastic pollution and the intensifying effects of climate change. These threats not only endanger ecosystems but also deepen poverty, unemployment and community vulnerability.

Our Services
Forest & Landscape Restoration
Uganda loses thousands of hectares of forest every year. FCI is reversing this trend by restoring degraded forests and landscapes through community-driven reforestation and youth-led ecosystem rehabilitation.
Wildlife & Biodiversity Conservation
Faunora Conservation Initiatives (FCI), we believe that protecting wildlife and biodiversity is central to building a climate-resilient future. Uganda’s forests, wetlands, and savannahs host rich ecosystems, yet they face growing threats from deforestation, poaching and habitat loss.
Water Conservation & WASH
Clean water is life and climate change is putting that life at risk. Through our Water Conservation and WASH Program, FCI works with schools and communities to promote safe water access, hygiene and wetland restoration.
Waste Management & Circular Economy
Keep your garden vibrant and healthy year-round. Uganda’s growing waste crisis is both a challenge and an opportunity. FCI turns waste into value through youth-led recycling, upcycling, and zero-waste innovation. Our program helps communities reduce pollution, create jobs, and shift toward a circular economy.
